Sir,
I am directed to inform you that His Excellency the Governor intends to suspend you from the exercise of your office on the following grounds:-
(1.) That on the morning of the 6th March, 1907, you presented yourself at the office of the Public Works Department in a state of intoxication which rendered you unfit for the performance of your duties.
(2.) That on the morning of the 11th March, 1907, you again presented yourself at the same place in a similar condition and unfit for duty.
(3.) That on the 13th March, 1907, you were absent from duty without leave.
2. I am to call on you to furnish before the 8th instant at noon a statement in writing of the grounds on which you rely to exculpate yourself.
